Have A Heart for Hope – Sunday, April 13, 2014

This is the 19th year that Mama Ray has organized this benefit for Hope House.   Held at BB’s Lawnside BBQ from 1-9pm,  some of the best Jazz and Blues bands in the Kansas City area will donate their talents to raise money for survivors of domestic violence.

Race 4 Domestic Violence Prevention is a new organization with two primary goals: Provide funds to local domestic violence agencies through a 5K event, and to educate people about issues related to domestic violence through a grassroots campaign at auto racing events across the US. The 5K will be May 10, 7am-10am at Nebraska Furniture Mart, 1601 Village West Pkwy, KCKS 66111. Proceeds benefit Hope House, SAFEHOME, Rose Brooks Center, and Della Gill/Joyce H. Williams Center. Boots ‘N Daisy Dukes 5K & Lil’ Critters Fun Run will be held at Bass Pro Shops Crackerneck Falls at 7:30am on Sunday, June 1. This is a 5K for individual runners/walkers or teams, and children are also welcome to register for a special “Lil’ Critters” run.
