Lee’s Summit Housing Authority

111 SE Grand Ave
Lee’s Summit, MO 64063
(816) 524-1100

Established in 1965 as the Lea Haven Housing Authority, the Lee’s Summit Housing Authority is comprised of five members, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council.  A paid executive director and staff administer the programs that assist low-to-moderate income citizens with housing needs.  Housing Authorities are subsidiaries of the federal government and follow specific regulations and guidelines, as set forth by the Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD).  HUD delegates the administration of these agencies to a local authority.  By-laws, adopted by the authority, enumerate the duties of the elected officers for the Housing Authority.  Although not affiliated with the Lee’s Summit Community Services League, they frequently share the same clients.
